Dr. Dunford was first introduced to chiropractic care when he was injured as a 12 year old. Unable to walk and carried into the clinic, he was thrilled to walk out almost pain-free. Throughout his adolescent years he experienced the power of chiropractic for sports injuries and was able to give up his asthma medication because of spinal adjustments. His passion for helping people and for chiropractic led him to graduate from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1988. Dr. Dunford considers it a privilege to be a chiropractor and after 23 years of practice enjoys improving the quality of his patient's lives by learning new techniques to restore neurological function and optimal health. The team of Doctors and Chiropractic Assistants at Park Place Chiropractic have been instrumental in assisting him in this endeavor, in fact patients often state they get two treatments...one at the front desk and one in the treatment room! Having achieved a Fellowship in pediatrics and certified in Webster Technique, Dr. Dunford is able to share the same benefits of chiropractic care he first experienced with both children and expectant mothers. Among other techniques, ART (Active Release Therapy) has added a whole new dimension to his chiropractic treatments for everything from athletic injuries to the repetitive strain injuries he sees on a daily basis.
On a personal note, Dr. Dunford lives in Sherwood Park and enjoys tending his Japanese garden and koi pond with his lovely wife Jeannie. His deep appreciation for biomechanics, neurology and for the quality of life that human beings enjoy due to movement led to the study of Aikido and more recently, the honour of earning his brown belt in this defensive martial art. Dr. Dunford and his family enjoy boating, wake-boarding, camping, fly fishing, hiking, playing "Clone Wars" with his grandson Jason and if you keep your eyes peeled open early on a summer morning, you just might see him cruising Sherwood Park and the local countryside on his motorcycle.
